Sometimes I sit down to write these reflections and one moment immediately stands out.
This week was different.
When I asked myself, “What did life teach me this week?”
Nothing came.
Or so I thought…
Then I started replaying the week…
I completed some reports.
I paid some bills.
I started a new challenge on the WhatsApp group.
I stood before parents for the first time as PTA President and offered my graduation greeting.
I spent time planning upcoming trips.
I coached.
I laughed.
I planned.
I learned.
I served.
Then I realized…The lesson wasn’t hidden in one big moment, it was hidden in all the ordinary ones.
We spend so much time waiting for the milestone.
- The promotion
- The vacation
- The breakthrough
- The answered prayer
- The finish line
That sometimes we forget to notice that we’re already living the life we once prayed for.
Scripture Reminds Us
In Psalm 118:24:
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Not next week.
Not after the project is finished.
Not after retirement.
Today!
Maybe self-care isn’t always about slowing down.
Maybe sometimes it’s simply about paying attention.
Because joy often hides inside ordinary Tuesdays.
Inside conversations.
Inside serving.
Inside leadership.
Inside planning.
Inside laughter.
Inside showing up.
Reflection
What happened this week that you almost overlooked because it seemed “ordinary”?
If you paused long enough to notice… What would you be grateful for?
Don’t wait for extraordinary moments to convince you that you’re living a beautiful life.
Sometimes the beauty is found in the accumulation of ordinary days.
Until next Saturday!
Love, Talisha

So, so true and timely. I had a reminder of the same thing earlier in the week. We really keep holding ourselves out for the ourselves ‘when I … Or when this/that happens…” Without realising that within the the little moments as you said, some of those milestones are being achieved. Thank you for the reminder…I needed it! Thanks for your writing… Have a blessed week.
Hi Kathryn! Yes, let’s pay attention to every moment – big and small. Life is beautiful!
