Calm is not the absence of chaos… it’s the presence of trust.
And this week, I had to choose that trust.
During the Life in the Spirit Seminar, we were reminded to be prepared for the battle… and that the battle is not against flesh.
This week felt like a battle.
It started with something I had been looking forward to.
I was ready to secure the accommodations for my upcoming retreat – plans were forming, things were aligning…
And then, in a moment, it was gone.
The space was no longer available.
I was disappointed.
Deeply.
And that was just one of several moments this week where things didn’t go as planned.
There were decisions to make.
Adjustments to consider.
Moments where I felt overwhelmed and overstimulated – like I had to think harder than usual, hold more than usual, and respond faster than I wanted to.
Because the reality is that, when you’ve been living intentionally, when you’ve created rhythm and structure… you get used to flow.
And when that flow is disrupted?
It can feel unsettling.
But in the middle of all of it, I realized something:
- I was not empty
- I was not unprepared
- I was not without support
Because just before this week began, I had been in a posture of gratitude.
I had been in a space of prayer, reflection, and renewal.
And without even realizing it…
I had been fortified.
Scripture Reminds Us
In Ephesians 6:12:
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against… the spiritual forces of evil…”
And later, we are called to put on the full armor of God.
This week, I felt the need for that armor.
Because even in my disappointment…
even in the moments where I felt stretched…
I found myself returning to a simple truth:
👉🏽 God is still working for my good.
👉🏽 If something is removed, there is purpose in it.
👉🏽 If plans change, there is still a path.
So today, my self-care is this:
- choosing trust over frustration
- choosing faith over fear
- choosing to believe that what is ahead is still aligned
Even when it doesn’t look like what I planned.
Reflection
What has shifted or fallen apart for you recently?
How are you responding to those moments?
And can you trust that even in the disruption you are being guided, protected, and prepared?
Sometimes, what feels like resistance is actually redirection.
Stay grounded. Stay covered. Stay trusting.
Until next Saturday!
Love, Talisha

1 Corinthians 15:57-58 KJV
[57] But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. [58] Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Amen!!!
Thanks for sharing Yvonne!
This was my topic for bible study this week and also last night on the radio Ministry. We’re in a spiritual battle and we need the Armour of God to equip us in this fight now more than ever. More importantly, we also need a community like this to motivate and to be accountable.
What a confirmation!
Such a powerful share!!!
It reminds me I’m not alone when all your plans get derailed. It reminds me that yet, things may not go as “I” planned, that there is a God in full control and simply because of this, I am indeed fortified for the battle ahead.
Thank you for this reminder!
Yessssss! My pleasure Nickel! God is GOOD!
