Maybe I’ve Been Ready All Along

Today is Day 16 of our 21-Day Gratitude Challenge, and the prompt asks:

What is something you’ve been holding back on that you’re ready to step into?

For a long time, I’ve told myself a story: “I am not a motivational speaker.”

I’ve been comfortable in coaching. In mentoring.
In smaller, more intimate spaces.

Spaces where I could guide, support, and walk alongside others.

But speaking?
Standing in front of a group?
Owning that space?

That felt like something else… something bigger. Something I wasn’t sure I was ready for.

But this week, I was given an opportunity. In recognition of Administrative Professionals Day, I was invited to facilitate a one-hour session with a group within my organization.

I spoke about life balance.
I guided them through the Wheel of Life.
I shared. I taught. I held space.

And something shifted.

It wasn’t just about what I said… It was about what I saw.

The reflection.
The engagement.
The impact.

And in that moment, I could no longer hold on to the old story.

Maybe I’ve been ready.
I was just holding back.

Scripture Reminds Us

In 2 Timothy 1:7:

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.”

And I felt that.

Not fear – But presence, clarity, and confidence.

So today, I am choosing gratitude.

Grateful for:

  • the opportunity
  • the courage to say yes
  • the reminder that growth often requires stepping beyond what feels familiar

And most of all, the realization that I don’t have to wait until I feel “ready” to walk in what I’ve been called to do.

Reflection

What have you been telling yourself you are “not”?

Where might you be holding back… not because you lack ability, but because it feels unfamiliar?

And what would happen if you gave yourself permission to step into it?

Sometimes, the next level of your life is on the other side of a story you’ve been telling yourself.

Here’s to saying yes—even when it stretches you.

Until next Saturday!

Love, Talisha ❤️

    1. Ms Monica, You just reminded me of one of the verses from this weeks meditations – John 10:10 – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”

  1. Walk boldly into your activation. You are not stepping out alone, you are carrying power, authority, and divine backing. The same Spirit that raised life from death lives in you, SPEAKS through you, and goes ahead of you.

    So don’t shrink!

Don’t second-guess. Don’t SILENCE what God has placed inside of you.

You are equipped! You are empowered!
And the words you release are not empty, they carry weight, purpose, and impact beyond what you can see. Trust that when you open your mouth, heaven responds, and we the people receive.

    Stand tall!
    Speak with confidence!
    Move with intention!

I love you deeply, and I need you to understand this, you’ve stirred powerful things in me, and I am sure not just in me, but in the atmosphere around you and in your intimate groups. There is a ‘shifting’ attached to your obedience.

So go forward knowing: you are chosen, you are covered, and you are more than ready.
